BTS has always been fiercely protective of their personal lives, choosing instead to share the depths of their professional journey with the world. Over the past decade, their career has been chronicled through numerous documentaries and films, each shedding light on their evolution as artists. So, with so much already out there, what more is there to tell? Apparently, a lot. And in a refreshingly new way.

J-Hope’s “On The Stage” tour was nothing short of a spectacle—bold, introspective, and full of artistic depth. While his albums have always been explorations of style and sound, this concert felt like a reflection. It wasn’t just a showcase of his music; it was a journey through his artistic evolution, tying together pieces of his past work into a cohesive masterpiece.

RM’s documentary RPWP is a fascinating deep dive into his journey as an artist, both as part of BTS and on his own. After watching it, I couldn’t help but reflect on how much it reveals—not just about him, but about BTS, K-pop, and even life in general. Here are ten things that stood out to me.

Solo Careers & Achievements

Can BTS Members as Solo Artists Match BTS's Success?

BTS has undeniably set the bar sky-high in the music industry. With record-breaking achievements, sold-out stadiums, and an incredibly dedicated fanbase, the group’s success is unparalleled. But as each member ventures into solo projects, one big question remains: Can they match the level of success that BTS has achieved as a group?

Success is Relative to Their Chosen Path

The short answer? Yes and no. While each BTS member has the potential to be highly successful in their own right, their solo careers will likely follow different trajectories based on their individual artistic pursuits. Rather than directly comparing their solo success to BTS’s collective dominance, it might be more fitting to measure it within their chosen genres and markets.

For instance, Suga (Agust D) has already proven himself as a successful rapper and producer.

His influence in the industry is growing, and he has the potential to be a powerhouse behind the scenes, much like legendary producers who shape the sound of entire generations. His success might not mirror BTS’s in terms of mainstream pop dominance, but within his lane, he’s already a major force.

RM, known for his introspective and poetic approach to music, is carving out a niche in hip-hop and alternative spaces.

His success will likely be measured not just in numbers but in cultural and artistic impact, particularly in the global hip-hop scene.

Jungkook, on the other hand, is perhaps the most likely to achieve a level of pop stardom closest to BTS’s overall success.

He’s already demonstrated a strong appeal in Western markets, and his willingness to embrace mainstream pop music suggests he’s well-positioned for global dominance.

The Role of Genre and Market

Some members may not aim for the same commercial heights as BTS. V has shown a strong inclination towards jazz, R&B, and even musical theater.

While those genres might not generate the same explosive numbers as pop, his artistry could still place him at the top of his chosen field.

Jimin has continuously reinvented himself, and his recent solo success has already been groundbreaking.

His ability to captivate audiences with unique artistic choices sets him apart, but whether he wants to maintain heavy promotions on a global scale is another question.

J-Hope, often regarded as a quadruple threat—rapping, singing, dancing, and producing—has immense potential.

If there’s any member willing to go through the grind of Western promotions, it’s him. His artistry and stage presence already make him a standout, and he could carve out a distinct legacy.

And let’s not forget Jin. While he may not focus on music full-time, his business acumen suggests that he could become one of the wealthiest members through strategic investments.

Whether it’s gaming, entertainment, or other ventures, his post-military career could take unexpected but highly successful turns.

Will Any of Them Surpass BTS?

BTS as a group is a cultural phenomenon, and surpassing that level of global impact is almost impossible. However, each member’s success in their chosen field will likely be comparable to BTS’s influence in pop music. Rather than replacing BTS, they will expand their legacy into new spaces.

Ultimately, it’s not about whether they can “match” BTS’s success—it’s about how they define success individually. And knowing their talent, work ethic, and passion, they’re all bound to thrive in their own way.

The recent exhibits dedicated to BTS members Jimin and Jungkook offered an in-depth look at their artistry, but in two very distinct ways. While both exhibitions celebrated their journeys as musicians, the execution and focus varied, reflecting their individual styles and creative processes. Let’s explore some of the highlights and what made each exhibit special.

When you listen to BTS’s music, you might notice something interesting—the rapline’s sound feels distinct and well-established compared to the vocal line. Some fans even describe their music as having a more “certain” or “defined” identity. But why is that?

Books have a way of making us pause, reflect, and even question aspects of our own lives. Some stories entertain, some educate, and then there are those rare ones that linger in your mind long after you’ve turned the last page. Almond by Sohn Won-pyung is one such novel. It’s a beautifully written yet deeply unsettling book that forces us to rethink the way we perceive emotions, pain, and the human experience.
